1.What is Natesh?

Natesh is a rayon thread from India and I buy it from Silken Strands in Bangor. There are two types available, a hand and machine thread. I use the hand embroidery thread.

 

2. What stitches do you use for the birds?

I use stem stitch for the birds, following the direction of the feathers.

 

3. How do you frame your work?

There is a framer here in Swansea who is very good, she stretches and frames everything for me and she has a very good eye for choosing frames. I frame my embroideries without glass as the glass makes the work look flat and you can't see the stitching as clearly.
