I am getting on well with the stole today (well I did start at 6!) I have nearly finished the first side, the darker thread is much easier to use and is much quicker to sew with. I need to finish a bit of the trunk, make sure that none of the leaves are gappy when I take the hoop off and then I need to sew the sides back up (I had to slit the seams and sew the design through the sides).
I can now reveal my new business idea, which is to make ethical crafts. I am trying to really research my supplies, which is harder than it sounds! The yarn I have had so far is made of hemp. I photographed the 2 parcels so far, the pictures are not great, but you get the idea. It is now lunchtime and I am going to start doing more on my new business this afternoon, I am trying to split my day between sewing and the new business, hopefully in the next week or so, the new website will be up and running!

I have finished another PDF, it is a collection of 9 of my most popular designs and it is available for £1 here
I sold another stick insect, so I made that this morning, and I finished off 2 embroideries that I have been waiting to finish for ages, they are done now and are on my 'embroideries' page here I am now going to start on a new style for me, hopefully I will be able to post all of the amazing photos of it in the next few days, if it goes quiet, you know it didn't work :@) Tomorrow I am going to 'Itchy Fingers' again, I went for the first time on Friday and it was so inspiring and I am going to have a tattoo consultation I have decided that I am going to have more fun with my work and do whatever I like instead of just embroidery. So I have added cards and crochet animals to my repertoire so far and I hope to add all kinds of crafts to the site eventually.
I am also fed up with pretending I am someone else, not in a scary way, just that I want to make the site fun and friendly and not all arty. You will see me, not an image I keep up for appearances. I was having a lot of trouble with the website builder I was using and I have changed it today and it is much easier to use and much less frustrating! I am having a few problems taking pictures of my crochet animals as the sun keeps going in at the most inconvenient moments, but I will be putting them up soon. I have been doing a bee today I will try to keep the blog updated as often as I can and let you know what I am doing. Feel free to write to me about anything you like |
