I am sorry, I don't know what is going on with the blog, I have been writing posts, but they don't seem to be appearing. Hopefully we will have better luck today
Yesterday I managed to get some work done after all, so I cut out the clematis flowers with an incense stick and tried applying them to a tea paper covered canvas and then a piece of bark, I need to ponder for a while and see what I fancy
I made some cards, some will be going on here soon for sale when I have good photos of them
I cut out my lotus flower and I have tried it on a tea paper canvas and a painted canvas, again I will ponder and see which I like
I tried the fish on tea paper canvas, cut out the blossom and the window, and I have been slowly putting my crochet patterns on Craftsy. That feels like a good day to me!
Oh yes, I nearly forgot, I painted the background for my sparrow commission too!
My new blank artists canvases arrived today, wahoo! I have been looking forward to being able to finish some of my embroideries off. Hopefully there will be photos to show you soon!
I finished off the clematis that I started yesterday, it needs some more done on it, but I think it worked well!
I have sorted my craft stuff out and I am keeping very little of it as I am starting to make work using the things I see and find on my walks in the woods. It is an experiment so far and I am down to stranded cottons, a few 'fancy' threads, cream cotton fabric, flower press, paints, teabags and not a lot else, it is very liberating. It is also part of the point of us moving out of our home and into the camper is to not have everything we want all the time, sometimes we will have no internet, sometimes no fabrics, sometimes no heat, but it all works out in the end
Sorry about not doing the blog yesterday. No excuses, I forgot.
Today I have been selling Magic cards and I started a clematis embroidery, but I am too tired to finish it. Maybe tomorrow.
I had a lovely email from Nicky with a photo of her Shirley Sheep that she made. She is very sweet and I think she has come out really well and I love her eyes! Thank you Nicky and you are all welcome to send me your photos, I love to see them
Just a quickie today. More Ebaying this morning and this evening I repainted my butterfly and made this feather
I know I am jumping around all over the place at the moment with my work, but for the next few months the priority is getting our house ready for sale and selling the contents. It tends to mean that my brain has gone all squidgy by the afternoon and not much sewing is being done.
I have been thinking about making my work based on my days, things I see and find on my walks. I started looking at mounting my butterfly on a piece of bark, but it is just a work in progress at the moment, it will change I am sure, but you get the idea.....
I spent the morning selling more goodies and this afternoon out with the dogs. This evening I wanted to do some more on my wren, but I am so tired I can't summon up the enthusiasm! Not really any crafting done today, but I have traced the wren onto fabric so I can try a new technique and if it works, make some hoop art!
Right of to sleepy time....zzzzz
campers are ace!!!!!!
The above is blog bombing by James :)
Today was another morning of Ebaying and walking in the woods (what a hard life!) This afternoon I packed up an embroidery I sold on Folksy last night, I have only had the shop a couple of days, so that was great!
While walking in the woods with the dogs this afternoon I found an animal skull which was cool. I know it offers some odd ethical questions as I don't eat or use animal products in my work normally, but I find it morally OK to use as long as people know what it is and I haven't bought it.
Anyway. No sewing done today, but the canvases have been ordered so hopefully more finished embroidery soon!
I applied for my provisional driving licence today. Look out world, I will be on the road soon!
I am having a lovely day off today, so nothing to show you I am afraid! I have been for a walk, read my book and I have settled down for an Arnie film. What a fun day :)
There will be something for you to see tomorrow I am sure. Bye!
I live in Newcastle (UK) and I have been a professional embroiderer for over 10 years.
