The sparrow is growing, these are just the base coat colours, more detail will be added in the next few days
The sparrow is coming on well, I have done most of the large feathers on the wing (well the base colour anyway) He is proving to be a challenge, but he is working well so far
I have been working on a poinsettia stitched Christmas card....
I have been doing more stitching on the sparrow today and I have finished the base coat on the head.
This afternoon I am going to be doing some work on the Christmas cards I have been commissioned to make.
I have taken pictures of my new cards and I will be posting them on the site soon, probably tomorrow, but every time I say something like that, it doesn't happen for some reason! Trip to town today where I found a canvas in a charity shop, some hand made paper and a pretty neckless (for the beads) Woohoo! I love charity shops :)
After unpicking the beak I did yesterday, I have redone it, finished the eye and started the feathers....
After more days of not feeling very well, I have started the beak, and I see it is going to be one of those naughty birds that I have to keep unpicking! I have unpicked the beak already today and now it needs doing again...ho hum. Sometimes you just have to get on with something else and come back to it.....
My new toy arrived from Ebay....very exciting!
I am back! Sorry for the few days off, my brother-in-law came to visit and we have been getting over being ill and the effects of giving up caffeine which are not all what you would expect! Who would think sciatica is a known side effect of giving up tea! Ouch....
Today I started work on my sparrow commission, he came on nicely this morning and I hope to do some on him each day. Tomorrow I will be starting the main stitching. I always start on the beak and face, because if they go wrong and he looks grumpy it is best to know early!
I have been commissioned to make 50 Christmas cards, so that will keep me out of trouble for a while! I have printed some deigns onto tea papers ready to machine stitch tomorrow
I had a sudden burst of creativity at about 7.30 last night, I finally made it past the feeling blech phase and wanted to get on! So I cut out the tissue paper flowers that are going to make up part of the background of an embroidery and I also made a card in cross stitch, I don't know if I will use it yet, but I wanted to see if it would work.
Alan (my brother-in-law) is coming to visit today, so I am not sure what I will be able to post over the next few days, but I will do my best!
I live in Newcastle (UK) and I have been a professional embroiderer for over 10 years.
